Mining hybrid microgrid with solar, diesel generators and battery energy storage systems

Energy Storage Solutions by Application

We configure systems around the load profile, site environment, grid condition, PV and generator assets, and required backup duration.

Industrial & Commercial

Peak shaving, backup power, PV self-consumption and energy-cost management.

Mining

Solar + Diesel + BESS hybrid power for remote civilian mining operations and weak-grid sites.

Oil & Gas

Reliable power for civilian industrial facilities, camps, service bases and remote operating sites.

Telecom

Backup and hybrid energy architectures for towers, edge facilities and remote communications sites.

Remote & Off-grid

Microgrid solutions integrating PV, batteries and generators to improve reliability and fuel efficiency.

EPC & Channel Partners

Project-based equipment supply and customized configuration for EPCs, integrators and generator companies.

System Design Logic

The same battery size can solve different operating problems

Power-led design

Prioritizes kW for peak clipping, motor starts, fast load changes and high instantaneous demand.

Energy-led design

Prioritizes kWh or MWh for backup duration, solar shifting and generator-off operating periods.

Control-led design

Prioritizes EMS logic, source coordination, reserve margin, load shedding and restoration sequences.

Use the C&I BESS sizing guide to understand how kW, kWh, load profile and backup duration affect the architecture.

From project data to supply proposal

  1. 1. Define the objective

Peak shaving, backup, PV utilization, fuel reduction or off-grid power.

  2. 2. Provide operating data

Load curve, energy sources, outage pattern, site conditions and schedule.

  3. 3. Review architecture

Battery, PCS, EMS, electrical interface, protection and thermal strategy.

  4. 4. Confirm commercial scope

Equipment boundaries, documentation, delivery schedule and quotation assumptions.

Frequently asked questions

Which solution fits a site with both PV and diesel generators?

A Solar + Diesel + BESS microgrid is often relevant, but the operating strategy depends on load variability, PV profile, genset minimum loading, outage risk and fuel target. Compare Solar + BESS with Diesel + BESS.

Can one BESS provide both peak shaving and backup?

Yes, but energy reserved for backup is unavailable for daily optimization unless the EMS dynamically manages reserve. The load profile and outage requirement must be modeled together.

What should an EPC include in the first RFQ?

Include the country, single-line diagram if available, load data, required power and energy, grid voltage and frequency, PV and genset capacities, environmental conditions, standards, communications and delivery schedule.
